The founders and staff at RiteTech are huge fans of Dragon
Naturally Speaking (a.k.a. DNS) dictation and speech recognition
products. Dragon Systems (now part of Nuance) has consistently
innovated in these technologies since the late 1980's, which is when
one of RiteTech's co-founders first experienced a DNS system
installed on equipment used for the National Institutes of Health
(NIH).
Over the years, DNS has steadily improved its performance, feature
set, and accuracy. With the proper in-person training,
demonstration, and customization - DNS can be used as an extremely
powerful productivity tool. DNS has editions that work either
"live" via a headset-microphone, or with recorded audio (e.g. from a
digital recorder). DNS can also greatly help those with
limited typing skills and/or physical limitations (e.g. carpal
tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, etc.) fully enjoy the use and
capabilities of a computer, without requiring the full-time use of a
traditional computer keyboard.
